Sustainable Management of Scots Pine in the Northern Periphery to Maximise Biodiversity and Timber Quality

Project Type: PreparatoryThe aim of the full project will be to develop clear guidelines and practical decision support tools for the management of Scots pine in the Northern Periphery to meet a range of objectives, focusing on the parallel demands of timber quality and biodiversity. It is envisaged that collaborative work on the development, testing and dissemination of methodologies for field assessment of timber quality and biodiversity in Scots pine forests will form a key part of the full project. The experience and expertise of the partner organisations will be combined through close transnational working to deliver outputs that are relevant and useful to those involved in the management and utilisation of Scots pine in the Northern Periphery. These outputs will include seminars, training courses and published guidelines.
