Sustainable use of aggregate resources
Measure: 2.1

This will increase the life span of local natural resources and remove the need for deposits of by-products. The following specific objectives and innovations are included:
· Develop a process for extracting valuable industry filler from the large amount of sludge.
· Develop crushed fine aggregates to a product competitive with natural sand for concrete production.
· Manage the depletion of natural sand to extend the life span of high-quality resources.
· Develop economically feasible and environmentally friendly quarrying and production concepts based on all-integrated and/or subsurface production philosophy.
· Setting up measurement tools and indicators for improvement of local environment.
