Micro & Preparatory Projects

Please note: the INTERREG IIIB Northern Periphery Programme is no longer accepting applications for micro and preparatory projects. The text below is for information purposes only.

Micro Projects

Micro projects are intended to establish first contact and help find potential partners. They are particularly intended to cover the costs of travel to the new parts of the programme area (Iceland, Greenland and the Faroes) and only one partner is required to make an application. The maximum grant to a micro project is 5 000 Euros, up to a maximum of 50% of eligible costs. Micro projects have a simplified application and reporting procedure due to their shorter time scale and budget.

Preparatory Projects

Preparatory projects also have a simplified application and reporting procedure, and are intended to mobilise a broader, well-balanced partnership. They facilitate the drawing up of joint project plans, which should consist of a common starting point, where the project outputs are of interest to all partners and can be implemented and disseminated on a national, regional, local and transnational level. A minimum of two partners is required to make an application, and the principal aim is to facilitate the drafting of a main application. The maximum grant to a preparatory project is 15 000 Euros, up to a maximum of 50% of eligible costs.

An application for micro or preparatory project funding can be made by submitting an electronic, an original and an extra paper copy of the application to the Secretariat. Both the preparatory and micro projects have a simplified application and reporting procedure.
