Update of the Mid-Term Evaluation
An update to the Mid-Term Evaluation was carried out in 2005 by the European Policies Research Centre at Strathclyde Univeristy, Scotland. The analysis focused on an assessment of the efficiency, effectiveness and impact of the Programme on the basis of experience up to mid-2005 and the implications for the future, in light of changes in the financial, regulatory and strategic environment with special emphasis on the main conclusions from the current Programme and lessons for next period.

Mid-Term Evaluation
In 2003, a mid-term evaluation of the Northern Periphery Programme was carried out in accordance with European Commission guidelines. The evaluation was carried out by an independant assessor under the responsibility of the NPP Managing Authority.
The mid-term evaluation sought to assess the implementation of the programme to date. A number of recommendations were made by the evaluators, which the Joint Programme Secretariat is actively attempting to incorporate and implement.
